Youth & Children's Programs

Raising the Next Generation in Faith

Our children’s and youth ministries partner with families to build a firm foundation of faith — helping kids grow in knowledge of Scripture, love for others, and confidence in Christ.

A Place for Every Age to Grow

Raising kids who love Jesus can feel like a big responsibility. Our children’s and youth programs are here to help — teaching God’s Word in ways kids understand, building friendships that last, and creating safe spaces for faith to grow.

How We Care for Kids in Our Programs

The safety of our children and workers is of extreme importance. We have established a rigorous set of security and safety practices. Teachers must:

    • Demonstrate being a believer and follower of Jesus
    • Verify adequate biblical knowledge
    • Complete a screening questionnaire
    • Pass a criminal background check

When first attending a children’s ministry, please be prepared to complete a registration form. Visual contact of the parent with the teacher/leader is required in order for the child to be released from the classroom. Please contact the church office for more information.

How Do We Teach God’s Word to Kids & Teens?

Our goal is to systematically teach the Bible using age-appropriate methods in a historical/redemptive manner.

What does our curriculum focus on?

Our lessons are Christ-centered and biblically grounded. Each curriculum we use is prayerfully reviewed and approved by church leadership to ensure it faithfully teaches Scripture and points kids toward a growing relationship with Jesus.

What does “historical/redemptive” teaching mean?

“Historical/redemptive manner” means to teach a passage in its historical context and then to teach how the passage contributes to the development of the plan of redemption.

Why do we say grace is the foundation of everything we teach?

Recognizing that belief in what is taught comes by grace, through faith, and it is not something done by the individual but is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Is our teaching just about good morals?

Teaching of practical applications or moral lessons apart from the context of scripture does not make one “wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 3:15).

Clear Lake Grace Brethren Camp

SGBC has the great privilege to be associated with the Clear Lake Grace Brethren Camp located on Clear Lake near Highway 12 in the Cascade Mountains in Washington state. Each summer, children/youth from the region’s Grace Brethren churches gather for two one-week summer camps and one weekend Snow Camp in January. Junior Camp is for 4th grade through 7th grade, and Youth Camp is for 7th grade through 12th grade. Camps are a great opportunity for kids to grow in their faith through biblical teaching, experience cabin life in the mountains, and participate in fun games and activities.
